Adrianne Wortzel

Adrianne Wortzel (born 1941) creates interactive web works, video, robotic and telerobotic installations, and performance productions that weave historical and cultural perspectives into immersive experiences. Over four decades, she has interlaced fact and fiction through new technologies in both physical and virtual networked environments, reflecting her deep engagement at the intersection of art and science. Collaborating directly with engineers, roboticists, linguists, and inventors, Wortzel’s projects—supported by the Whitney Museum of American Art; the National Science Foundation; the Swiss Artists‑in‑Labs Program; the University of Zurich’s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory; Franklin Furnace; the PSC‑CUNY Research Foundation; and the Greenwall Foundation—invite audiences to explore the evolving relationship between humans and machines.
